The conference takes place in the conference hotel

The hotel Novapark is located in the north of Graz. The hotel is easily reachable by public transportation from the train station as well as from the centre of the city. (Here you find a small map .)

The conference hotel is a modern hotel which offers the comfort of a **** hotel at the price of a *** hotel. All rooms are equipped with shower/WC, mini-bar, satellite TV and direct-line telephones. The hotel offers a recreation area with sauna, indoor swimming pool, whirl pool, solarium, a fitness room and a massage room. All these facilities as well as the car park can be used free of charge by hotel guests.
The price of a single room is 690.- ATS per night and the price of a double room is 1180.- ATS per room and night. The room rates include an extended buffet breakfast.

How to reach the conference place

From the central train station:

If you arrive by train at the central train station (Hauptbahnhof), you can either take a taxi or use public transportation to reach the hotel. Details are described below.

By taxi:

Taxis can be hired in front of the train station. The ride to the hotel takes approximately 10 minutes and costs around 80-100 ATS.

By public transportation:

The three most convenient ways to reach the conference location from the train station by public transportation are described below. There exist several different types of tickets for using public transportation in Graz.

Alternative 1 (Bus 52)
The most convenient way to reach the conference place from the train station is to use bus 52 . This bus line brings you very close to the hotel without the need of changing to another line.
Leave the train station and turn left. After a few meters you will reach several bus stops. Make sure that you take bus 52 (final destination Industriepark Nord).
Get off at the stop "Bachwirt" (the stops you pass by are "Zollamt", "Lastenstrasse", "Kalvariengürtel", "Viktor-Franz-Strasse", "Apotheke" and "Ibererstrasse").
Cross the street (Wienerstrasse) and enter Exzerzierplatzstrasse. (see also the map) Continue straight ahead until you meet Fischeraustrasse. Turn right into into Fischeraustrasse and continue until you reach the hotel.
Note: The last bus of line 52 leaves the train station around 19:40 on weekdays (Monday-Friday) and around 13:40 on Saturdays. Line 52 does not run at all on Sundays. (For details see the following time-table .)

Alternative 2 (Tram 3/6 and Bus 40)
Leave the train station and turn to the right. There you will find the tram stop "Hauptbahnhof". Take either tram 3 or tram 6 (6 is running only until 20:00).
Get off the streetcar at the stop "Roseggerhaus" (the preceding stops are "Hauptbahnhof", the stop where you board the tram, "Eggenbergergütel" and "Esperantoplatz".
Cross the street (Annenstrasse) and turn around the corner into Volksgartenstrasse. Cross the street again. After a few meters you will arrive at the bus stop "Roseggerhaus".
Take bus 40 (make sure that the direction is Gösting) get off at the stop "Bachwirt". (The stops you pass by are "Volksgartenstrasse", "Lendplatz", "Zeilergasse", "Am Damm", "Bienengasse", "Fröbelpark", "Kalvariengürtel", "Viktor-Franz-Strasse", "Apotheke", and "Ibererstrasse").
From the bus stop "Bachwirt" proceed as described above in Alternative 1.
Note: The last bus of line 40 leaves the stop "Roseggerhaus" at around 23:30. (For details see the following time-table .)

Alternative3 (Tram 3/6 and Bus 67)
Proceed as described in Alternative 2 to arrive at the bus stop "Roseggerhaus". Take there bus 67 get off at the stop "Fischeraustrasse". (The stops you pass by are "Volksgartenstrasse", "Lendplatz", "Zeilergasse", "Am Damm", "Bienengasse", "Fröbelpark", "Kalvarienbergstrasse", "Erlengasse", "Kalvarienweg", "Schippingerstrasse" and "Augasse").
The bus stop is in Exzerzierplatzstrasse. Turn into Fischeraustrasse (see also the map ) and continue until you reach the hotel.
Note: Bus 67 brings you nearer to the hotel than buses 40 and 52. The last bus of line 67 leaves the stop "Roseggerhaus" around 21:00. (For details see the following time-table .)

From the airport:

The airport Graz Thalerhof is located 9 km south of the city centre.

By taxi:

The by far most convenient way to reach the hotel from the airport is to take a taxi. The ride to the hotel takes approximately 30 minutes and costs around 200 ATS.

By public transportation:

Unfortunately, there does not exist a convenient connection by public transportation between the airport of Graz and the city centre.
Alternative 1 (train to central train station)

If you do not mind a walk of approximately 300 meters, you can walk to the train station "Flughafen Graz Feldkirchen" and take a train from there to the central train station (Graz Hauptbahnhof). The train ride takes about 10 minutes. (For details see the following time table (in German).)

Alternative 2 (Bus to central train station)

At 5:35, 10:30, 12:00, 14:00, 16:55 and 18:20 a bus leaves the airport and goes to the central train station (travel time approximately 30 minutes). This bus is rather small and can only take a limited number of people without prior reservation.

From the city centre:

The tram lines 1,3,6 and 7 pass trough the centre of Graz including the central square "Hauptplatz" and the main hub of public transportation "Jakominiplatz". All these lines stop at the stop "Roseggerhaus". From there continue as described above.
